On 23rd November 2024, IQAS organized a training program titled "Uncertainty Estimation in Chemical Testing: Theory and Hands-on Practice," designed to empower professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to enhance accuracy in chemical testing.

Faculty Expert: Dr. Sushil Kumar Tyagi
A former Additional Director and Divisional Head (Air Toxic Lab, Quality Assurance, Environmental Training & Laboratory Accreditation Division) at CPCB (MoEFCC), Government of India, and Former Professor (Emeritus) in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, OPJS University, Churu, Rajasthan. Dr. Tyagi is a distinguished expert in environmental chemistry and laboratory accreditation.

Program Highlights:
The training provided a deep dive into uncertainty estimation in chemical testing, with a focus on:

  • Understanding the types and sources of uncertainty in chemical measurements.

  • Methods for uncertainty propagation and application in measurements.

  • Practical implementation of uncertainty estimation using Excel-based calculations.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions, hands-on exercises, and a case study to refine their skills in estimating and reporting uncertainty. The program equipped them with actionable insights to improve the reliability of chemical test results and decision-making processes.
